My dad was born in Atlanta, Georgia but lived most of his youth in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. He grew up with his mom and dad, Reah and Forrest Bryant; and his siblings Russell and Vickie. He was an amazing athlete and scholar, he attended Fletcher High. He received honor's for Player of the Decade at Fletcher High School. His best sports were baseball, basketball and football. He went on to play intercollegiate football at Florida State and Vanderbilt. He obtained a degree in business and went on to manage and own many resturants in Florida including Earl of Sandwich, Garden of Eating, The Hungry Shopper, and Sugar Works. He lived much of his life in Flordia including Sanibel and Captiva Island, Clear Water, Dunedin, and Fort Myers. He moved to Waynesville NC 25 years ago after vising Lake Junaluska as a little boy for yearly Methodist Retreats and falling in love with the mountains. After getting burned out of the resturant business he went into real estate and developed several hotels including the Catamount Inn and The University Inn and lastly owned and managed apartments in Cullowhee, NC. He loved to play golf and tennis, cooking, sailing and boating, reading, and going to any sporting event. He was definatly a sports enthusiast and spent many years on the sidelines and benches watching his children play in numerous games. He loved dogs, even though he wouldn't admit it and had a very caring heart despite his hard shell. Some of his favorite bands were The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, John Fogerty, Buddy Holly and any kind of bluegrass. He loved his family and always made sure we had what we needed. He was a selfless man and will missed by all. Thank you for always being our savior. We love you dad!
